Four Women Named to Positions as Deans

norris-anneAnne Norris was name interim dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Miami. She has been serving as associate dean for the Ph.D. program and as a professor at the school. She joined the faculty at the University of Miami in 2014.

Dr. Norris previously taught at Ohio State University, Boston College, and the University of Central Florida. She holds a Ph.D. in nursing and psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Alyson Hagy outdoor portraits 7_27_09Alyson Hagy was named interim dean of the Outreach School at the University of Wyoming. Professor Hagy joined the faculty at the university in 1996 and currently teaches in the creative wiring program.

Professor Hagy is a graduate of Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and earned a master of fine arts degree at the University of Michigan.

sharon_matusik-cc03Sharon Matusik was named interim dean of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She is a professor of strategy and entrepreneurship and senior associate dean for faculty and research at the business school. She joined the faculty at the university in 2004.

Professor Matusik is a graduate of Colby College in Maine, where she majored in economics and English. She holds a Ph.D. in strategic management from the University of Washington.

119612_mcclain030Paula McClain was appointed to another five-year term as dean of the Graduate School at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She was initially named dean in 2012 and will now serve through June 30, 2022. Dr. McClain also serves as a professor of political science at the university.

Professor McClain has been on the faculty at Duke University since 2000. She is the co-author of American Government in Black and White (Oxford University Press, Second Edition, 2013) and Can We All Get Along? Racial and Ethnic Minorities in American Politics (Westview Press, Sixth Edition, 2013). Dr. McClain holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in political science, all from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
