Dartmouth College, the Ivy League educational institution in Hanover, New Hampshire, has announced that five faculty members in its division of arts and sciences are retiring. Three of those retiring are women.
Kathleen Corrigan was named associate professor of art emerita. She taught introductory and advanced courses in ancient and medieval art. Dr. Corrigan is the author of Visual Polemics in the Ninth-Century Byzantine Psalters (Cambridge University Press, 1992). She holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Linda L. Fowler is the Frank J. Reagan ’09 Chair in Policy Studies and professor of government emerita. She joined the faculty at Dartmouth in 1995 and served as the director of the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences. She is the author of the forthcoming Watchdogs on the Hill: The Decline of Congressional Oversight of U.S. Foreign Relations (Princeton University Press). Professor Fowler is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester.
Keala Jane J
ewell is a professor of Italian language and literature emerita. She also taught French and comparative literature and was affiliated with the gender and women’s studies program at Dartmouth. She is the author of The Poiesis of History: Experimenting with Genre in Postwar Italy (Cornell University Press, 1992). Professor Jewell holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. She earned a Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
