Four Women Who Have Been Apppointed Chief Diversity Officers at Universities

Natalie Page is the inaugural chief diversity officer at St. Xavier University in Chicago. She was vice president for academic affairs at Danville Community College in Virginia. Earlier, Dr. Page was dean of academic services at South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois.

Dr. Page is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she majored in advertising and marketing. She holds a master’s degree in instructional design and technology from Governors State University and a doctorate in community college leadership from Northern Illinois University.

Tiffany R. Hinton is the new assistant vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion and chief diversity officer at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina. Dr. Hinton has been at ECSU since 2018, having previously served as director of community standards prior to being promoted to assistant dean of student development.

Dr. Hinton is a graduate of Fayetteville State University in North Carolina, where she majored in criminal justice. She holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Norfolk State University in Virginia and an educational doctorate from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

Kiwana McClung has been named the chief diversity officer at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. McClung, who joined the university in 2013, is an associate professor in the School of Architecture and Design.

McClung, who is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana., earned a bachelor’s degree in arts and humanities from Southern University in Baton Rouge. She holds a master of architecture degree from Louisiana State University.

Khalilah Shabazz is the new vice president and chief diversity officer at Butler University in Indianapolis. She had worked in a number of roles at Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis since 2001, including director of the Multicultural Success Center and director of the diversity enrichment and achievement program at the University College.

Dr. Shabazz holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees and an educational doctorate, all from Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis.
