What Colleges and Universities Are the Best Places for Women to Work?

Forbes magazine and the market research company Statista have compiled their latest rankings of America’s Best Employers for Women. The data was compiled by surveying 50,000 employees nationwide at firms and organizations that have at least 1,000 employees. Women were asked to rate their employers on factors such as parental leave, discrimination, and pay equity, and to nominate organizations in industries outside their own. Representation at the executive and board levels were also factored into the final score.

Tampa General Hospital in Florida was rated as the best place for women to work in the entire nation. Other well-known firms at the top of the rankings include Carvana, L’Oreal, AstraZeneca, Cisco Systems, Talbots, and Unisys.

The rankings can also be viewed by sector. Loyola University of Chicago was rated the best educational institution in the United States for women to work. It ranked eighth overall on the Forbes list. Southern New Hampshire University was the second highest-ranked educational institution and 17th overall. In third place for educational institutions was the University of South Florida, ranking 22nd overall.

Other educational institutions among the top 100 employers for women in the United States are the University of California, Los Angeles, the Maricopa Community College District in Arizona, Kent State University in Ohio, and the University of Kentucky.
