New Administrative Roles for Six Women in Higher Education

Kara Cattani was appointed executive director of student development services at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Since 2012, Dr. Cattani has been the associate director of Counseling and Psychological Services at the university.

Dr. Cattani earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a business management minor at Brigham Young University. She earned a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Florida State University.

JoAnn Kunkel is the new vice president of finance and administration at the University of South Dakota. She worked for Sanford Health system for nearly 30 years, rising to the role of chief financial officer.

Kunkel holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of South Dakota.

Nancy Lynch has been selected as vice chancellor for legal affairs at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Lynch joined the Office of Legal Affairs in 1997 and has served as deputy to the vice chancellor since 2013.

A native of Stitzer, Wisconsin, Lynch earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Christina Cash has been named assistant director for outreach and communication at the Lobster Institute at the University of Maine’s Darling Marine Center in South Bristol. Since 2018, she has been an advancement office at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in Boothbay.

Cash earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Maine.

Jenni Crenshaw was appointed chief technology transformation officer at Mississippi State University. She has been serving a vice president for global support for PDI Software in Atlanta.

Crenshaw received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Mississippi State University in 1999.

Mary G. Parker has been named the University of Florida’s new vice president for enrollment management and associate provost, effective August 2. She has been serving as vice president of enrollment management at Kent State University in Ohio. Earlier, Dr. Parker was the associate vice president of enrollment management at the University of Utah.

Dr. Parker earned a bachelor’s degree in history and government and a master’s degree in educational counseling, both from Southeastern Louisiana University. She also earned a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
