In Memoriam: Antoinette Iadarola, 1940-2020

Antoinette Iadarola, the former president of Cabrini University in Radnor, Pennsylvania, died at her home in Clinton, Connecticut, on May 23. She was 80 years old and had suffered from cancer.

A native of New York City, she was the daughter of Italian immigrants. Dr. Iadarola held a bachelor’s degree in history/political science from the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in European diplomatic history from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Iadarola was the sixth president of Cabrini University, which is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. She was the university’s first lay president. Dr. Iadarola served as president from 1992 to 2008.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Iadarola was chair of the history department at the University of St. Joseph and provost at Colby Sawyer College in New Hampshire.

After leaving Cabrini, Dr. Iadarola served as president of Lauralton Hall, a private Catholic school in Milford, Connecticut. She retired in 2017.
