Gisela de la Concepción Fosado has been named editorial director of Duke University Press. Once an undocumented immigrant, Dr. Fosado will be the first Latinx editorial director of Duke University Press

“Being entrusted to lead books acquisitions at Duke University Press, and to build upon the bold and urgent work done by those before me, is the greatest honor of my life,” Dr. Fosado said. “Everything I know about publishing I learned through my brilliant, generous, and hard-working colleagues at the press. I look forward to many more years of learning and collaboration.”
