“We’re at a particular moment, I think, in the college and the university where there’s a lot of really important work that’s being done — a lot of momentum around issues that matter to me,” Dr. Roy said. “I think the leadership at the University right now is fantastic, and it’s a great time to contribute to those efforts.”

Dr. Roy obtained a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, with a minor in South Asian studies at the University of Toronto. After receiving a master’s degree in biology from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, in 1996, Professor Roy went on to receive a doctorate in reproductive neuroendocrinology and molecular biology from the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto in 2001.
