In Memoriam: Emily E. Williamson, 1965-2019

Emily Williamson, longtime director of the University of Louisiana-Monroe Child Development Center, died late last month after a lengthy illness. She was 54 years old.

Williamson became director of the Child Development Center in 2003. She served as an instructor in family and consumer sciences from 2003 to 2010. She then became an instructor in the School of Education.

Nick J. Bruno, president of the University of Louisiana-Monroe, said that “Emily Williamson was a wonderful person who was truly dedicated to this university. She deeply loved ULM, especially the children under her care at the Child Development Center. She will be greatly missed.”

Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a master’s degree in instructional technology, both from the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
