Alysia Starkey Named the Leader of Kansas State University Polytechnic in Salina

Alysia Starkey, who has been serving as the interim CEO and dean of the Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus in Salina since July 2018, has been named to the position on a permanent basis.

“Kansas State Polytechnic is a special place and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as CEO and dean,” Dr. Starkey said. “I am excited to continue working with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to advance our mission and enhance our capabilities to meet the educational and workforce needs of the future.”

Dr. Starkey joined the faculty at the Polytechnic Campus in 2002. Before being named interim dean she had been serving as a full professor and as associate dean for academics at the Polytechnic Campus.

Dr. Starkey earned an associate’s degree in social work from Colby Community College in Kansas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Fort Hays State University in Kansas, a master’s degree in library science from the University of North Texas, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Kansas State University.
