University of Texas to Offer a Five-Year, Dual Degree Program in Women’s and Gender Studies

The University of Texas at Austin is offering a new combined five-year bachelor’s and master’s program in women’s and gender studies. It is the first accelerated dual degree program in the humanities at the university.

Undergraduate students who major in women’s and gender studies within the College of Liberal Arts may begin graduate courses in their junior year if they meet the academic requirements. In order to qualify for the dual degree program, students must have a 3.0 grade point average or better and have completed 60 hours of coursework, including substantial progress in the women’s and gender studies major.

Students will also have to obtain the consent of the women’s and gender studies undergraduate and graduate advisors and the associate dean for student affairs.
