Three Women Scholars Appointed to Positions as Deans

Susan Greenbaum was appointed dean of the School of Professional Studies at New York University. Dr. Greenbaum, whose career as an NYU administrator and educator spans over 30 years, has served as the school’s interim dean since July 2018. Prior to her tenure as interim dean, Dr. Greenbaum served as the interim assistant vice president/executive director of the Wasserman Center for Career Development.

Dr. Greenbaum holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from New York University. She earned a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.

Leykia Nulan has been named dean of admission at Mount Holyoke College, the prestigious liberal arts educational institution for women in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She was the director of freshman admissions and assistant provost for diversity and enrollment at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Nulan has a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College, where she was a Posse Scholar, and a master’s degree in higher education policy from the University of Pennsylvania.

Sandra Russ is the new interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. This appointment marks the second time Professor Russ has served as interim dean; she last filled the role for 13 months in the early 2000s. Dr. Russ is the Louis D. Beaumont University Professor. She chaired the university’s department of psychology from 1987 to 1994. She has served on the faculty since 1975.

Dr. Russ holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
