In Memoriam: Carole Bellini-Sharp

Carole Bellini-Sharp, the Margaret Bundy Scott Professor of Theatre Emerita at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, died on August 28 after a lengthy struggle with heart disease and cancer.

Dr. Bellini-Sharp joined the faculty at Kirkland College in 1973 as an assistant professor of drama. After Kirkland merged with Hamilton College in 1978, she remained on the faculty where she was instrumental in shaping Hamilton’s theatre program.

At Hamilton, Carole taught courses on acting, directing, and voice. When she retired in 2016 after serving on the Kirkland/Hamilton faculty for 43 years, she had directed more than 60 professional and college productions.

Dr. Bellini-Sharp held bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Pennsylvania State University. She earned a Ph.D. in drama at Carnegie Mellon Univerity in Pittsburgh.
