Two Women Appointed to Dean Positions at State Universities

Jeanine E. Gangeness has been named acting dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Winona State University in Minnesota. She joined the university in 2015 as associate vice president for academic affairs and also served as dean of the School of Graduate Studies.

Dr. Gangeness holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing, a master’s degree in rural health, and a Ph.D. in nursing education all from the University of North Dakota.

Beth A Longenecker has been named dean of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens. She currently serves as associate dean for clinical education and assistant professor of emergency medicine at Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Longenecker is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she majored in musicology with a minor in piano performance. She holds a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Ohio University.
