Anna Maria Hong Wins Norma Faber Book Award From the Poetry Society of America

Anna Maria Hong, a creative writing faculty member at Bennington College in Vermont, has received the Norma Faber First Book Award from the Poetry Society of America. She was honored for her collection of poems, Age of Glass (Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 2018).

Hong has on the faculty at Bennington College since July 2018. She previously taught creative writing at other institutions including the University of Pennsylvania, Ursinus College in Pennsylvania, the University of California, Los Angeles, Eastern Michigan University, and the University of Washington Bothell. In 2010-2011 she served as a Bunting Fellow in Poetry at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University.

Hong is the author of a second poetry collection, Fablesque, which will be published in early 2020. It has already received the Berkshire Prize from Tupelo Press. Additionally, many of her poems have been published in various journals and anthologies throughout her career.

Hong is a graduate of Yale University where she majored in philosophy. She holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas.
