Four Women Appointed to Dean Positions at Universities

Astrid Sheil has been named the dean of the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business at Shenandoah University in Virginia. She is the first woman to hold the position. Currently, she serves as a professor of business and communication at California State University, San Bernardino.

Dr. Sheil holds a bachelor’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in organizational communication both from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Danielle M. Conway has been named dean of Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson Law School in Carlisle. Currently, she serves as dean and professor at the University of Maine School of Law.

Professor Conway holds a bachelor’s degree from New York University , a master of laws degree from George Washington University, and a juris doctorate from Howard University.

Laura Fero has been named dean of nursing at the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She has been serving as the dean of nursing and health sciences and director of nursing at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina.

Dr. Fero holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a master’s degree in nursing and business administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh.

Annette Kluck has been named dean of the Graduate School at the University of Mississippi. She was assistant provost for women’s initiatives in the Office of Inclusion and Diversity and a professor of counseling psychology in the College of Education at Auburn University in Alabama.

Dr. Kluck is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University where she double majored in psychology and Spanish. She holds a master’s degree in psychology and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Texas Tech University.
