Three Women Scholars Added to the Faculty at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut

Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut has announced the hiring of eight new tenure-track faculty members. Three of the new hires are women.

Arianne Bazilio is a new assistant professor of environmental science and chemistry. She has been conducting postdoctoral research at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She specializes in aquatic chemistry.

Dr. Bazilio is a graduate of New York University, where she majored in chemical and biological engineering. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Julie C. Gamble was appointed an assistant professor of urban studies at Trinity College. She has been teaching at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador. Among her interests are urban infrastructure and gendered politics in Latin American cities.

Dr. Gamble is a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she majored in history and gendered studies. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in city and regional planning from the University of California, Berkeley.

Lina Ma was named an assistant professor of mathematics. She was a visiting professor at Trinity College during the previous academic year. Earlier, she spent three years as a research associate at Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Ma is a graduate of Beijing University in China, where she majored in scientific and engineering computing. She holds a master’s degree in financial mathematics and a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Purdue University.
