University of Chicago’s Ayelet Fishbach Honored for Her Research in Social Psychology

Ayelet Fishbach, the Jeffrey Breakenridge Keller Professor of Behavioral Sciences and Marketing at the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, received the Career Trajectory Award from the Society for Experimental Social Psychology.

Career Trajectory Award recipients are recognized as top researchers in social psychology who are at the peak of their careers, and who demonstrate “uniquely creative and influential scholarly productivity,” typically during the 10-year period following tenure.

Professor Fishbach studies social psychology, management and consumer behavior, particularly on how humans exercise self-control. She is the president-elect of the Society for the Science of Motivation and past president of the International Social Cognition Network.

Professor Fishbach earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction in psychology in 1992, a master’s degree summa cum laude in psychology in 1995, and a Ph.D. magna cum laude in psychology in 1999, all from Tel Aviv University in Israel. She joined the Chicago Booth faculty in 2002 and was promoted to full professor in 2009.
