Two Women Stepping Down From High-Level Posts at Major Universities

Audrey Anderson, vice chancellor and general counsel at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, has announced that she will step down from her post on July 31. She joined the staff at the university in 2013 after serving as deputy general counsel for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Earlier, she was a partner at what is now the Hogan Lovells law firm in Washington, D.C.

Anderson is a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she majored in economics. She is magna cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.

Carolyn Ainslie, vice president for finance and treasurer at Princeton University in New Jersey, is stepping down from her post in order to become chief financial officer for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She has served as vice president for finance for the past decade. Earlier, Ainslie was on the staff at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, for 20 years where she rose to the rank of vice president for planning and budget. She will begin her new job on October 1.

Ainslie is a graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. She earned an MBA at the University of Rochester in New York.
