Meredith College Offers New Child Care Option for Students, Faculty, and Staff

Meredith College for women in Raleigh, North Carolina, has announced the establishment of the Wings After School program on campus. The program will operate between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays and will accommodate children ages 5 to 12.

The after school program will be available for faculty and staff at the college but also for children of degree-seeking students who need child care while they are on campus. The cost of the program will be $175 per month. Children in the program will be provided tutoring and homework assistance.

Jo Allen, president of Meredith College notes that the challenge of finding affordable care and balancing their roles as parent and student can be a barrier to higher education. “Meredith’s after school program acknowledges the need to assist families who are seeking supportive pathways through educational opportunities,” President Allen said.
