Four Women Named to Endowed Chairs at Major Research Universities

Hyunsuk Shim was named the inaugural holder of the Crocker Family Chair in Cancer Innovation in the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University in Atlanta. She has been on the faculty at the university since 2002.

Dr. Shim holds a Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of Illinois. She conducted postdoctoral research in radiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.

Pamela L. Perrewé was appointed the Robert O. Lawton Distinguished Professor at Florida State University. She is a professor in the department of management at the university. Dr. Perrewé joined the faculty at the university in 1984. Her research is focused on human resource management, particularly job stress, coping, and organizational politics.

Dr. Perrewé is a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where she majored in psychology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Nebraska.

Molly Wright Steenson was named the inaugural holder of the K&L Gates Career Development Professorship in Ethics and Computational Technologies at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. She joined the faculty in the university School of Design in 2015. Professor Steenson is the author of Architectural Intelligence: How Designers and Architects Created the Digital Landscape (MIT Press, 2017).

Professor Steenson holds a master’s degree in environmental design from Yale University and a Ph.D. in architecture from Princeton University.

Laura Barraclough was appointed the Sarai K. Ribicoff Associate Professor of American Studies at Yale University. She is the author of Making the San Fernando Valley: Rural Landscapes, Urban Development, and White Privilege (University of Georgia Press, 2011).

Before joining the faculty at Yale, Dr. Barraclough taught at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, Antioch University in Los Angeles, and California State University, Fullerton. She holds a Ph.D. in American studies and ethnicity from the University of Southern California.
