Jennifer Erickson Wins Book Award From the Foreign Policy Section of the American Political Science Association

Jennifer L. Erickson, an associate professor of political science at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, received the 2017 Best Book Award from the Foreign Policy Section of the American Political Science Association.

Dr. Erickson was honored for her book Dangerous Trade: Arms Exports, Human Rights, and International Reputation (Columbia University Press, 2015). In this book, Dr. Erickson looks at the arms trade policies of nations before and after the 2014 Arms Trade Treaty enacted by the United Nations.

In commenting on the honor, Dr. Erickson said: “This was the first time APSA’s Foreign Policy Section presented a book award, and I am very grateful for this recognition from my peers. The award covered books published in 2015 and 2016, and there was an extraordinary amount of terrific research produced during that time, so I feel doubly honored.”

Dr. Erickson holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in government from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
