The Next Dean of the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at Kent State University in Ohio

Kent State University in Ohio has announced that Christina Bloebaum will be the next dean of the university’s College of Aeronautics and Engineering. Dr. Bloebaum currently serves as the Dennis and Rebecca Muilenburg Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Iowa State University. She will begin her new job at Kent State on August 1.

In accepting the position, Professor Bloebaum said that “the potentials for growth in the college are tremendous, especially given the recent emphasis on engineering. I look forward to building relationships and collaborations across all stakeholders that will help the college and Kent State to be successful in advancing the mission of the university and the college.”

Dr. Bloebaum has served in her current post since August 2012. Prior to joining Iowa State, she worked at the National Science Foundation, the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York System, and NASA’s Langley Research Center. She is an associate editor for the Journal of Mechanical Design.

Professor Bloebaum holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering, all from the University of Florida.
