In Memoriam: Sally Jacquelyn Page, 1943-2018

Sally PageSally J. Page, who served as an affirmative action and equal employment opportunity officer in higher education for more than 40 years, died on February 2 at the Valley Eldercare Transitional Care Unit in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was 74 years old.

A native of Saginaw, Michigan, Page earned a bachelor’s degree at Iowa State University and an MBA from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.

Page began her career at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville soon after the passage of Civil Rights Act of 1964 and initiated the university’s first affirmative action policies. In 1977, Page was appointed director of the Affirmative Action and Compliance Office at the University of North Dakota. She remained at the university until her retirement in 2012.
