Lori Carrell Appointed Chancellor of the University of Minnesota Rochester

Lori CarrellThe University of Minnesota Board of Regents has named Lori Carrell as chancellor of the University of Minnesota Rochester. The campus enrolls just over 400 students, according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 74 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Dr. Carrelll has been serving as interim chancellor since last August. Earlier, she was vice chancellor for academic affairs and student development. Prior to joining the staff at the University of Minnesota Rochester, Dr. Carrell was the director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She served on the faculty there for 23 years.

Dr. Carrell is a graduate of Anderson University in Indiana, where she majored in speech communication, education, and psychology. She holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Ph.D. in speech communication from the University of Denver.
