Eden King to Lead the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology

Eden KingEden King, an associate professor of psychology at Rice University in Houston, Texas, was named president-elect of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She will serve as president of the organization during 2019.

The society, which has more than 8,000 members, is affiliated with the American Psychological Association and the Association of Psychological Science. The Society’s mission is to “enhance human well-being and performance in organizational and work settings by promoting the science, practice, and teaching of industrial-organizational psychology.”

Dr. King joined the faculty at Rice University in 2017 after teaching at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, for 11 years. She is a senior associate editor of the Journal of Management and associate editor of the Journal of Business and Psychology.

Dr. King holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in psychology, all from Rice University.
