Melissa Gonzalez to Lead the Southeast College of the Houston Community College System

Melissa Gonzalez was appointed interim president of the Southeast College of Houston Community College in Texas. The college enrolls about 57,000 students at about 20 campuses in the Houston metropolitan area.

Dr. Gonzalez has been serving as vice chancellor and chief of staff to the Chancellor of Houston Community College. She came to the college in 2015 after serving as vice chancellor for workforce and economic development at Lone State College in The Woodlands, Texas. Earlier, Dr. Gonzalez was an associate professor of management at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

Dr. Gonzalez holds a bachelor’s degree, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in international business and management from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg.
