Ursuline College Partners With The Catholic University of America for Legal Training

Ursuline CollegeUrsuline College, the educational institution for women in Pepper Pike, Ohio, has entered into a partnership agreement with the Columbus Law School at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Under the agreement, students may earn a bachelor’s degree from Ursuline College and a law degree from The Catholic University of America in just six years.

Students in the program will complete three full years of study at Ursuline College. This will be followed by three years at the law school at The Catholic University of America. Students will receive a bachelor’s degree from Ursuline College after the fourth full year of study and a juris doctorate after the sixth full year of postsecondary study.

For admission to this program, Ursuline students must have:

  • Completed at least three years of coursework;
  • Earned a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.60 by the end of the third year;
  • Scored above the 66th percentile on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT);
  • Remained in good academic and disciplinary standing, as determined by Ursuline; and
  • Met all of the fitness, character, and other criteria for admission required by the Office of Admission of the Columbus School of Law.

Ursuline College President Sister Christine De Vinne  stated that “we at Ursuline College are delighted to be able to offer future lawyers this chance to begin their college career with us, in a women-focused, supportive environment. They may eliminate one year of college expenses and enter their careers one year sooner than they would have after a typical seven-year experience of undergraduate studies and law school.”
