Linda Skitka Chosen to Lead the Society for Personality and Social Psychology

The president-elect of the Society for Personality and Social PsychologyLinda J. Skitka, a professor of psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, has been chosen as the next president-elect of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology. She will serve for one-year as president-elect in 2018 and then become president of the society in 2019.

Founded in 1974, the society is the largest organization of social psychologists and personality psychologists. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the society has about 7,500 members.

Dr. Sitka joined the faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1994. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she majored in psychology. Professor Skitka holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
