The First Woman President of New River Community College in Virginia

The First Woman President of New River Community CollegePat Huber was appointed president of New River Community College in Dublin, Virginia. When she takes office on July 1, she will be the first woman to serve as president of New River Community College.

The college, located west of Roanoke, enrolls about 4,500 students. Women make up 50 percent of the student body.

Dr. Huber has been a member of the staff at the community college since 1988. Most recently, she has served as vice president for instruction and student services.

Dr. Huber is a graduate of Emory and Henry College in Emory, Virginia. She holds a master’s degree from West Virginia University and a doctorate in community college administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
