Diane Lipscombe of Brown University Chosen to Lead the Society for Neuroscience

Diane LipscombeDiane Lipscombe, professor of neuroscience and the director of the Institute for Brain Science at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, has been chosen as president-elect of the Society for Neuroscience. She will serve for one year as president-elect and then become president in November 2018 at the close of the society’s annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

The society is the world’s largest organization devoted to the study of the brain and nervous system. It has nearly 38,000 members from 90 countries around the world.

Professor Lipscombe has taught at Brown University since 1990. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from University College London.
