Mary Meehan to Lead Seton Hall University in New Jersey

The new president of Seton Hall UniversityThe board of regents of Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, has named Mary Meehan as interim president of the university. Seton Hall University enrolls more than 6,000 undergraduate students and more than 3,500 graduate students. Women make up 56 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Dr. Meehan stepped down as president of Alverno College in Milwaukee in June 2016. She had served in that role for 12 years. Previously, she was executive vice president for administration at Seton Hall University.

“I am thrilled and energized to return to Seton Hall University at this exciting moment in its history,” said Dr. Meehan. “The faculty, staff, students and alumni make this a special place, and I am confident that, working together, we will continue to advance this great University and its Catholic mission.”

Dr. Meehan holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, all from Seton Hall University. She also earned a master’s degree in health policy and management from New York Medical College.
