The Next Dean of the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst

Tricia R. Serio has been selected as the next dean of the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She will become dean in August.

Currently, Dr. Serio is a professor and chair of the department of molecular and cellular biology at the University of Arizona. In accepting the appointment, Dr. Serio stated, “I am looking forward to working with faculty, staff, and students, to build on the strong traditions of excellence, engagement, and inclusivity in service of our mission.”

Dr. Serio is a graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she majored in molecular biology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University.
