In Memoriam: Elizabeth Winans, 1965-2016

Elizabeth Winans, a clinical associate professor in the School of Pharmacy at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, died on December 15. She was 51 years old and had suffered from cancer.

Dr. Winans joined the faculty at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2007. She taught student pharmacists in the behavior health department at the Truman Medical Center. Recently, Dr. Winans received the Innovative Practice Award from the College of Psychiatric and Neurological Pharmacists.

Dr. Winans was a 1988 graduate of Kansas State University, where she majored in life sciences. She went on to earn a second bachelor’s degree and a pharmacy doctorate at the University of Oklahoma.
