A Trio of New Deans at Colleges and Universities

mary-beth-lancasterMary Beth Lancaster was appointed dean of instruction at Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, Alabama. The college enrolls about 1,100 students and women are 55 percent of the student body.

Dean Lancaster has taught English at Jefferson Davis Community College for the past 22 years.

sarah_nutter_3_croppedSarah Nutter was named the next dean of the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon. She will assume her new post on January 17. Since 2014, Dr. Lundquist has been serving as dean of the School of Business at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Dr. Nutter is a graduate of Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. She earned an MBA and a Ph.D. at Michigan State University.

dr-heidi-gilligan2Heidi Gilligan is the new dean of education for Trident University, headquartered in Cypress, California. She joined the university in 2014 and has been serving as director of the graduate programs in education.

Dr. Gillligan holds a bachelor’s degree in speech/language pathology and a master’s degree in exercise physiology from San Diego State University. She earned a doctorate in educational leadership from California State University, Long Beach.
