Princeton University Hires Three Women to Its Faculty

princetonPrinceton University, the highly rated research institution in New Jersey, has announced the hiring of 16 new faculty members. Three of the new hires are women.

barnesRhae Lynn Barnes will join the department of history faculty in 2018. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She is the co-founder of the U.S. History Scene, a multimedia website. Dr. Barnes is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. She earned a Ph.D. at Harvard University.

olgarussakovskyOlga Russakovsky will join the faculty in the department of computer science for the fall 2017 semester. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Her research is focused on artificial intelligence systems that interact with the visual world. Dr. Russakovsky holds bachelor’s and doctoral degrees from Stanford University.

awongArlene Wong was named an assistant professor of economics. She will begin teaching at Princeton for the fall 2017 semester. She currently is a research economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Dr. Wong is a graduate of the University of New South Wales in Australia. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
