A Dozen Women Taking on New Administrative Roles in Higher Education

fraumanKatie Fraumann was appointed executive associate director of athletics for development at the University of Michigan. She has been serving as executive director for development and alumni engagement for the university’s School of Public Health.

Fraumann is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she was captain of the women’s basketball team.

EMBejarElizabeth Bejar, vice president for academic affairs at Florida International University in Miami, has been given the added duties of director of the Educational Leadership Enhancement Program that has the goal of mentoring women and members of underrepresented groups for leadership in the academy.

Dr. Bejar is a graduate of the University of Miami, where she majored in psychology and elementary education. She holds a master’s degree from Florida International University and a doctorate in higher education administration from Boston College.

mcgrawDeborah J. McGraw was named interim director of the English Language Institute at Syracuse University in New York. For the past six years she has been associate director of the institute.

McGraw is a graduate of Hamilton-Kirkland College in Clinton, New York. She holds a master’s degree in German studies from Cornell University.

SharpKendra Sharp was named director of donor relations at Wilberforce University in Ohio. She was the assistant director for professional development at Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Sharp is a graduate of Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she majored in criminal justice. She holds a master’s degree in higher education from Walden University.

Pamela_GrayPamela Gray is the new senior director of philanthropy for the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the University of Kentucky. She was the director of development and gift planning at Rice University in Houston, Texas.

Gray is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, where she majored in communication. She holds a master’s degree in philanthropic leadership from the University of Denver.

osbourneBeth Osbourne was appointed director of operational effectiveness in the Apex Systems Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the College of Business at Virginia Tech. She has been serving as the director of finance and administration at the College of Business.

Osbourne has been on the staff at Virginia Tech since 2000. She is a graduate of Bluefield College in Virginia and holds a master’s degree in career and technical education from Virginia Tech.

kathyyWilliamsKathy Williams was promoted to vice president for student enrollment, engagement, and success at the Texarkana campus of Texas A&M University. She has been serving as vice president for enrollment management.

Williams is a graduate of Montana Tech in Butte. She earned an MBA at Regis University in Denver, Colorado, and is currently studying for a doctorate in educational leadership through Northcentral University.

Gonzalez_BeaBea Gonzalez, special assistant to the chancellor and dean of University College at Syracuse University in New York, has been given the added duty as liaison to the university’s Posse Foundation Scholarship Program.

Gonzalez is a graduate of Binghamton University of the State University of New York System. She holds a master of public administration degree from Syracuse University.

renee-allenRenee Allen was appointed the inaugural director of the Academic Success Program at the University of Tennessee College of Law. She has been serving as an instructor in the College of Law of Florida A&M University in Orlando.

Allen is a graduate of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where she majored in English literature. She earned her law degree at the University of Florida.

Laura HallLaura Hall is the new senior director of campus recreation at Pennsylvania State University. She was director of campus recreation at the University of California, Davis.

Hall is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, where she majored in exercise science and sociology. She holds a master’s degree in sports psychology from California State University, Sacramento.

shanklinBecca Bradley Shanklin recently began work as the assistant director of development for the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas. She had been working in the office of the vice chancellor for university advancement at the university.

Shanklin is a 2008 graduate of the University of Arkansas, where she majored in political science and minored in marketing.

Forbes_RaShedaRa’Sheda Forbes was appointed interim assistant vice president of multicultural affairs at Mississippi State University in Starkville. For the past two years, she has been associate director of the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center on campus.

Forbes has been on the staff at the university since 2008. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biological science and a master’s degree in public policy and administration from Mississippi State University.
