President of Neumann University in Pennsylvania Announces Her Retirement

Rosalie M. Mirenda, president of Neumann University in Ashton, Pennsylvania, has announced that she will step down from her post on June 30, 2017. The Catholic university, located west of Philadelphia, enrolls about 2,400 undergraduate students ans 500 graduate students. Women make up 64 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Dr. Mirenda has been president of the educational institution since 1996, the longest-serving president in the university’s history. During her tenure as president, the campus has grown from 14 to 68 acres and enrollments have more than tripled.

Dr. Mirenda is a graduate of Villanova University in Pennsylvania, where she majored in nursing. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. from Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania.
