Eight Women Are Promoted and Granted Tenure at Boston University

Boston University has announced promotions for 25 faculty members. Among this groups are eight women who have been promoted to associate professor and granted tenure.

bradham1Cynthia Bradham was promoted to associate professor of biology. She has been on the faculty at the university since 2008. Her research has focused on the skeletal patterning of sea urchins. Dr. Bradham is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry and biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

hoAngela Ho was named an associate professor of biology. Her research concentrates on Alzheimer’s disease, a devastating age-associated neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive memory loss and cognitive decline. Dr. Ho is a graduate of Binghamton University of the State University of New York System. She earned a Ph.D. in neurobiology from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.

Purohit-bioTeena Purohit is a new associate professor of religion. She is the author of The Aga Khan Case: Religion and Identity in Colonial India (Harvard University Press, 2012). Dr. Purohit joined the faculty at Boston University in 2009. She is a graduate of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. She holds a master’s degree from Harvard Divinity School and a Ph.D. in religion from Columbia University.

yeMin Ye was promoted to associate professor of international relations. She is the author of Diasporas and Foreign Direct Investment in China and India (Cambridge University, 2014). Dr. Ye joined the faculty in 2007 and was director of the East Asian studies program from 2010 to 2014. Dr. Ye is a graduate of Beijing University in China. She holds a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a Ph.D. in politics from Princeton University.

Jaramilo_Deborah-1Deborah Jaramillo was named associate professor of film and television. She is the author of Ugly War, Pretty Package: How CNN and Fox News Made the Invasion of Iraq High Concept (Indiana University Press, 2009). Dr. Jaramillio joined the Boston University faculty in 2009. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned a master’s degree at the University of Arizona.

StineStine Grodal was appointed associate professor of strategy and innovation. Dr. Grodal joined the faculty at Boston University in 2007. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from the University of Copenhagen and a Ph.D. in management science and engineering from Stanford University.

LewisCara Lewis was named associate professor of physical therapy and athletic training. She joined the university’ faculty in 2009. Dr. Lewis is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. She earned a master’s degree in physical therapy and a Ph.D. in movement science from Washington University in St. Louis.

green-bannerJennifer Greif Green is a new associate professor of special education. Dr. Green is a graduate of Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, where she majored in psychology. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in counseling, clinical, and school psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
