Auburn University to Set Up a Breastfeeding Support Tent at Home Football Games

auburnAuburn University in Alabama has one of the nation’s most prestigious college football programs. Now Auburn is taking the lead in providing services for breastfeeding mothers who attend home football games on the Auburn campus.

The Auburn School of Nursing and Lactation Services will set up the Tiger Babies breastfeeding support tent that will be open three hours before kickoff of all home football games. The tent will be set up outside Miller Hall near the football stadium. It will provide a clean private area to nurse or pump. The tent will have rocking chairs, changing tables, and heaters or air conditioning depending on that particular day’s weather.

The Tiger Babies breastfeeding support tent will be staffed by lactation consultants, nursing students, and nursing faculty.
