In Memoriam: Molly Kenna Macauley, 1957-2016

Molly MacauleyMolly K. Macauley, a well-respected space economist, was stabbed to death in the Roland Park neighborhood of Baltimore while she was walking her dogs on July 8. Dr. Macauley was 59 years old.

Dr. Macauley was vice president for research and a senior fellow at Resources for the Future, a Washington think tank. She taught at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore from 1989 to 2008. Dr. Macauley was an expert on the economics of earth satellites.

Dr. Macauley was a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She held a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in economics from Johns Hopkins University.
