The Future President of the 62,000-Member American Pharmacists Association

Nicki Hillard, the new president of the American Pharmacists AssociationNicki Hillard, a professor of pharmacy practice in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, was named president-elect of the American Pharmacists Association. The association was founded in 1852 and has more than 62,000 members nationwide. Dr. Hillard will become president of the association in 2018.

Professor Hillard will be the first nuclear pharmacist to lead the organization. Nuclear pharmacists dispense radioactive materials for medical treatments.

Dr. Hilliard is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She holds a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a pharmacy doctorate from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
