New Administrative Appointments for 10 Women at Colleges and Universities

elena-hoodElena Hood was named the inaugural director of the Inter-Tribal Resource Center at the University of California, San Diego. For the past nine years, she has been program manager for the Pechanga School in Temecula, California.

Hood is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in Native American studies. She holds a master’s degree in education at Harvard University and is currently in the doctoral program in educational studies at the University of California, San Diego.

Kenedi+Hubbard_thmbKenedi Hubbard was promoted to university secretary at the University of New Mexico, effective, June 27. She has been serving as strategic support manager in the Office of the President at the university.

Hubbard is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, where she majored in business administration. She holds a master of public administration degree from the University of New Mexico.

watsonQiana Watson was appointed deputy legal counsel and labor relations director at York College of the City University of New York. She recently gave the keynote address at the annual University General Counsel Conference in Las Vegas.

Watson is a graduate of St. Joseph’s College in New York and the Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia.

StaceyNicksonStacey Nickson was appointed the inaugural director of the Center for Educational Outreach and Engagement at Auburn University in Alabama. She has been serving as director of K-12 outreach initiatives at the university.

Dr. Nickson is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

dison AlbrightAnne Edison-Albright was named pastor at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Since 2010, she has been the pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Edison-Albright is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she majored in English and journalism. She holds a master of divinity degree from Yale Divinity School.

mcdermottBeth E. McDermott was promoted to vice president for development at Boston College. Since 2014, she has served as associate vice president for development. From 2005 to 2010, McDermott was associate director of principal gifts at Middlebury College in Vermont.

McDermott is a graduate of the University of Vermont, where she majored in English. She holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Emerson College in Boston.

langeCandice Lange was appointed director of the Jane Brock-Wilson Center for Women in Management in the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Since 2006, she has been president of Lange Advisors, a leadership development firm in Indianapolis.

Lange is a graduate of Purdue University, where she majored in pharmacy. She earned an MBA at Indiana University.

AmbercrombieBarbara A. Abercrombie was named vice president for human resources and organizational effectiveness at Texas A&M University. She has been serving as associate vice chancellor for administration and chief human resources officer at the University of Arkansas. She is the former director of human resources at the University of Oklahoma at Tulsa.

Dr. Abercrombie holds a master’s degree in human relations from the University of Oklahoma and a doctorate in workforce education and human resource development from Oklahoma State University.

McCrary_BrittanyBrittany McCrary was promoted to assistant director of annual giving at Mississippi State University. She has been working as the senior manager of the Bulldog Calling Center of the university’s development office.

McCrary is a graduate of Mississippi State University, where she majored in biological engineering.

supron460Kate Supron was named liaison for Cornell Cooperative Extension and Engaged Cornell. In this joint position, Surpon will seek to increase opportunities for community-engaged research, learning, and service projects.

Supron is the former mayor of Cayuga Heights, New York. She served as mayor from 2010 to earlier this year.
