Eight Women Appointed to Executive Posts in College and University Administrations

Yvonne Berumen was named vice president for admission and financial aid at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. She has been serving as vice president of scholarships and academic support services for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Earlier, she held admissions office posts at Occidental College and Mount St. Mary’s University, both in Los Angeles.

Berumen is a graduate of Pitzer College, where she majored in psychology and sociology. She holds a master’s degree in higher education from Claremont Graduate University.

mosrNina G. Moser was appointed vice president for college advancement at Southern Vermont College in Bennington. She has been serving as senior advancement officer of principal gifts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.

Moser is a graduate of Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, where she majored in business and economics with minors in environmental science and psychology.

GMTGillian McKnight-Tutein was named vice president of academic and student affairs at Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado. She is the former assistant vice president of academic affairs and director of distance education at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction.

Dr. McKnight-Tutein is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University. She holds a master’s degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida, and an educational doctorate from the Fischler College of Education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Patty_HaberbergerPatty Haberberger will be the next vice chancellor for human resources for the University of Missouri. She has been serving as assistant vice president for human resources at Saint Louis University. She has been a human resources officer at Saint Louis University since 1992.

Haberberger is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where she majored in business administration.

steurbautMargo Steurbaut was appointed vice president for administration and chief financial officer for the California Institute of Technology. She has been serving as vice president for finance at the University of Southern California. She has been an administrator at Southern Cal since 1993.

Steurbaut is a certified public accountant with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Illinois State University and a master’s degree in business from the University of Southern California.

Sara L. Trower,Sara L. Trower was named executive director of the Office for Equity, Civil Rights Compliance, and Accessibility at Ohio University in Athens. Since 2003, Trower has served as associate general counsel at the University of Kansas. Earlier, she was an assistant attorney general of the state of Missouri.

Trower is a graduate of William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri, where she majored in history. She earned a law degree at the University of Missouri.

keri_kei_shibata_300Keri Kei Shibata was promoted to chief of security police at the University of Notre Dame. She has been serving as deputy chief for safety services.

Chief Shibata is a graduate of Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana, and the University of Notre Dame’s executive MBA program.

exumBarbara Exum was appointed director of the new Center for Compounding Practice and Research in the School of Pharmacy at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She was senior vice president of clinical services at BioScrip, a home-infusion therapy company.

Dr. Exum holds a bachelor’s degree and a doctor of pharmacy degree, both from Virginia Commonwealth University.
