Universities Appoint Five Women to Positions as Dean

Jennifer Bott was appointed dean of the Miller College of Business at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She has served as interim dean since June 2015. Earlier, she was associate provost for learning initiatives. Dr. Bott joined the faculty at the university in 2004 as an assistant professor of management and was promoted to full professor in 2015.

Professor Bott is a graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, where she majored in psychology and communications. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Akron in Ohio.

GasparichGail Gasparich is the new dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Salem State University in Massachusetts. She was associate dean of the College of Science and Mathematics and professor of biological sciences at Towson University in Maryland.

Dr. Gasparich is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she majored in biological sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in microbiology from Pennsylvania State University.

adamsStephanie G. Adams was named dean of the Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She will be the first woman to hold the post. Dr. Adams has been serving as a professor and chair of the department of engineering education at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

Professor Adams is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, where she majored in mechanical engineering. She holds a master’s degree in systems engineering from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary engineering from Texas A&M University.

Dr.-Pam-JacksonPamela Jackson is the new dean of the School of Business and Economics at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. She has been serving as interim dean since last fall. Dean Jackson has been on the faculty at Fayetteville State University since 1999. Earlier, she was chair of the department of banking and finance at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

Dr. Jackson is a graduate of Albion College in Michigan, where she majored in psychology and sociology. She holds a master of public administration degree from Troy University in Alabama, an MBA from Fayetteville State University, and a Ph.D. in information technology/management information systems from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Litwack_bKim Litwack was named interim dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, effective July 1. She is the associate dean for academic affairs at the nursing school. Dr. Litwack has been on the faculty at the College of Nursing since 2004.

Dr. Litwack is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she majored in psychology. She holds a master’s degree in medical surgical nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and a doctorate in educational administration from Kent State University in Ohio.
