University of California Faculty Required to Take New Online Course on Sexual Misconduct Reporting

University of CaliforniaThe University of California system announced that all faculty and staff supervisors will be required to take an online course on the university’s new sexual harassment and assault policies.

At the beginning of the year new rules were implemented that requires all sexual assault and harassment allegations be investigated by Title IX officers at a particular school of campus rather than deans. Also, faculty and staff members are now required to notify the Title IX officer if they receive any information on alleged sexual misconduct. The new online courses will make sure that all faculty and supervisors are aware of the new procedures.

A second online course will be added later this year.
