One Woman Among Four Finalists for Chancellor of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln

masonThe University of Nebraska at Lincoln has announced a field of four finalists for the position of chancellor. All four candidates will visit campus in the coming weeks for interviews and a series of public presentations. One of the four finalists is a woman.

April C. Mason is provost and senior vice president at Kansas State University. She joined the administration at Kansas State in 2010. Previously, Dr. Mason was a professor and dean of the College of Applied Human Sciences at Colorado State University. Earlier in her career, she was a professor of foods and nutrition and associate dean in the School of Consumer and Family Sciences at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Dr. Mason is chair of the Council on Academic Affairs of the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities. She also serves as president of the Association of Chief Academic Officers.

A graduate of Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, Dr. Mason holds a master’s degree in plant physiology and a Ph.D. in food and nutrition from Purdue University.
