In Memoriam: Bettye Lois Grigsby, 1966-2016

Bettye Lois GrigsbyBettye Grigsby, associate professor of educational leadership at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, died on February 7 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. She was 50 years old.

Dr. Grigsby also served as chair of the department of leadership and policy analysis and was chair of the doctorate of education in educational leadership program at the university. She joined the faculty at the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2007. Earlier, she was an administrator and teacher in the Beaumont Independent School District in Texas.

Dr. Grigsby was a graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont, where she majored in biology. She held a master’s degree in counseling and guidance from Prairie View A&M University in Texas and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University.
