Two New Leaders for Community Colleges in Minnesota

Last month, WIAReport published a post on the resignation of Leslie McClellon as president of Rochester Community and Technical College in Minnesota. President McClellon served as president of the college for only 18 months.

president_joyce_helensNow the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System has announced that Joyce Helens will serve as acting president of Rochester Community and Technical College until a permanent replacement for McClellon is found. Since 2006, Helens has been president of St. Cloud Technical and Community College in Minnesota. Earlier, she was dean and chief instructional officer at the University of Alaska Anchorage and served as president of Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington.

President Helens is a graduate of St. Martin’s University in Lacey, Washington. She holds a master’s degree in English from Portland State University in Oregon.

Peg-ShroyerDuring President Helens’ tenure at Rochester Community and Technical College, Peg Shroyer will serve as acting president at St. Cloud Technical and Community College. She is the vice president of academic affairs at the college. Dr. Shroyer has held this post since 2009. She holds an educational doctorate from the University of Minnesota.
