Sherlyn Fritz Is the New Co-Chair of Past Global Changes

Sheri FritzSherilyn Fritz, the George Holmes University Professor of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is the new co-chair of the steering committee of Past Global Changes (PAGES). The international organization, based in Bern, Switzerland, supports research which aims to understand the Earth’s past environment in order to obtain better predictions of future climate and environment, and inform strategies for sustainability. PAGES was established in 1991 with support from the National Science Foundation of both the United States and Switzerland. Its journal, Past Global Changes, has 5,500 subscribers in 125 countries.

PAGES-white-lowres-webDr. Fritz’s current research projects focus on long-term hydrologic variability in tropical South America and in the Great Plains and Rocky Mountain regions of North America. She is a graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Professor Fritz earned a master’s degree at Kent State University in Ohio and a Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota.
